My Musical Career
The first band I was ever in was called
Dredd (named after the
comic book Judge Dredd not that crappie movie). We really sucked
but we
were only 13 years old and we had a lot of fun. We mostly played
Slayer
and Metallica but we occasionally threw in the mellow stuff like
White
Lion and Dokken. I think we knew a total of 10 songs, so we
really
couldn't play any bars, and like I said we were only 13. That
band
lasted until I graduated from high school and then I was off to
find a
bar band. A local bass player I knew called and said he was
starting a
80's metal cover band so I said "Sure, I'll do it."
Playing in bars is
awesome. Going under the name STRATOSFEAR, we did the local bar
scene
for about two years before we got sick of each other and decided
to go
in different directions. I was bandless for about two days when I
called a drummer I knew and Asked him if he was interested in
starting a
band. By then I was totally into DREAM THEATER, so we recruited a
keyboard player. This was my favorite band. We called the band
MR.
ANDERSON'S DOG and we rocked. We all were nitpickers so the songs
we did
were perfect, which is always a good thing when your playing in
front of
100 drunks. I left that band to pursue classical music. It's
geeky in a
way because most people would rather chew their arm off than
listen to
classical music, but I kind of like it and that's all that counts
right? So until DREAM THEATER decides they need another guitar
player,
I won't torture you with anymore of my pathetic music career.
